The Conran designed Argus Lofts development is situated in the old Evening Argus building in Brighton’s sought after North Laines.
Blindspot Interior Design were appointed by their clients, who owned two neighbouring penthouse apartments in the development, to redesign the two independent spaces as one large 2-bedroomed apartment with an additional en-suite and study area. The design brief given to Paul and Amanda was to be creative with the space and develop an innovative design, whilst retaining the high level of interior specification already put in place by the original developers.
The design has resulted in a very unique and unexpected layout, where all of the new full height partitions have been set out at an angle. This has dramatically opened out the room sizes and introduces some unusually shaped floor plans for both bedrooms and the en-suite – optimizing the internal space and providing interesting visual stimulus as you navigate your way around. The enormous master bedroom suite has a bespoke oak timber surround to the bed area, which is framed by softly glowing accent lighting. This is accompanied by an oak paneled walk in dressing area, complete with an opaque glass vision panel, which has been installed along the entire width of the bedroom. Using a base palette of chalky neutral wall colours, Blindspot have introduced a fresh jade colour to highlight key bedroom walls to offset against the rich European oak and Canadian walnut timbers used throughout. The adjoining en-suite is simply stunning with its 2-zone divided functionality; an angled L-shaped privacy wall encases the WC and sink area, whilst vivid floor to ceiling pistachio coloured wall tiles zone the showering area.
